The Karrimor Great Trail Challenge took place in Keswick in the Lake District on Sunday, 17th June, 2012.
The event featured 10K, half marathon and marathon trail running distances and a four nation international match comprising elite competitors.
It was a well organised and well attended event.

Event Photography in the Lake District Cumbria
Here are a few images from the sporting event launch I recently photographed. The event, held at the Low Wood Hotel near Ambleside in the Lake District, was run by the organisers of the Great North Run/Great North Swim and supported by the British Army. It was a very hot day and the participants worked hard, exercising under the baking sun.

Amy LaVere
Amy LaVere
Amy LaVere, American singer, songwriter, upright bass player and actress came back to Cumbria yesterday to play a special gig at Torpenhow.
Amy first played Torpenhow Village Hall almost two and a half year’s ago after being invited by her friend Alec Graham from Cumbria. Alec invited her back this year to play a one-off gig as part of her European Tour.
Amy and her new band put on a superb performance. Here are a few photos of the gig.

Cockermouth Live 2011
Cockermouth Live 2011 Photos
Here are a few photographs from Cockermouth Live 2011, an outdoor music event that took place on Saturday, 25th June around the town.
I managed to get a few shots of Yann Tan – playing Northumbrian and Scottish folk music in Old Kings Arms Lane before heading over to the Memorial Gardens to watch Crow Dog playing classic and current blues on the Main Stage.
Sadly, the rain stared to come down cutting short Crow Dog’s performance and calling a halt to proceedings.
The music was great, though.

Fashion Show Hundith Hill
Fashion Show at Hundith Hill Hotel, Near Cockermouth
I was asked to photograph a charity fashion show at the Hundith Hill Hotel in Cockermouth. The fashion show had been organised by Pearl Wilson, mother of M Sport boss, Malcolm Wilson. The event was attended by around 150 women and raised over £1500 for Hospice at Home West Cumbria – a great achievement.
Models: Elaine Wilson, Di Hopkins, Christine Stobart and Julia Richardson.
Fashion show arranger and presenter: Annette from Spirit of the Andes, Hornby, Lancaster.
I was happy to provide my services free of charge for such a worthwhile cause.
These are a few images from the day.

Cockermouth Lantern Festival and Children in Need Event
Cockermouth Lantern Festival and Children in Need Event
Last night, the town of Cockermouth hosted a Lantern Festival and the BBC broadcast parts of its Children in Need event live from Main Street. The event marked the twelve month anniversary of the floods, which devastated the town. One year ago, Main Street was submerged under six feet of raging flood water. This year, thousands of visitors poured along Main Street visiting the food stalls and watching the procession and performers.
This is a slide show of my photographs from this year’s Cockermouth Lantern Festival and Children in Need Event.

Cockermouth Firework Display
Cockermouth Firework Display 2010
Last night, I headed down to Cockermouth to photograph the firework display. It was a fine, chilly evening and the event was well attended. Crowds gathered in Memorial Gardens to watch. The firework display kicked-off just after 6pm and lasted around thirty minutes. The fireworks were spectacular.
Here are some shots of the display.
